Eli and the Thirteenth Confession by Laura Nyro is released as a limited complete production 7-inch paper sleeve SACD multi-hybrid edition, presenting her landmark second album originally issued in 1968 and celebrating the New York-born singer-songwriter's early creative peak, featuring classic compositions such as Sweet Blindness and Stoned Soul Picnic, later hits for The 5th Dimension, and Eli's Comin', covered by Three Dog Night, all showcasing her exceptional songwriting, emotionally charged and soulful vocals, and distinctive musical vision, with Charlie Calello serving as co-producer and a backing ensemble drawn mainly from jazz musicians while Laura Nyro herself performs most of the piano parts, and this Japanese edition marks the first domestic release in this format to include a four-channel audio program on the SACD layer, with the SACD layer containing 4ch and 2ch audio, the CD layer containing 2ch audio only, bonus tracks included exclusively on the CD layer, and the title also appearing for the first time in a 7-inch size paper jacket configuration.
